IPv6 at Home: Prefix Delegation with Cox, FortiGate, and an Aging Brocade Core
Cox gets a lot of criticism, and most of it’s earned. But there’s one thing they do right that a lot of ISPs still don’t: they hand out a full /56 IPv6 prefix via DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation (DHCPv6-PD). That’s 256 individual /64 subnets, which is more than enough for a homelab, however sprawling it gets.
